We are excited to announce that the beta build has been updated to include a water tracking feature! If you don't see it immediately, you can access it by going to 'more' -> 'display' -> '+ menu settings,' and simply toggle on the water tracking option.
Additionally, we're thrilled to release a teaser of our new voice logging feature. We would greatly appreciate your feedback on this feature, particularly your first impressions and how well Cronometer matches your input to specific foods. Please share any other observations or experiences you come across in this channel. Your feedback is invaluable to us!
Please note that there is a known issue with voice logging on Android devices related to the microphone. Rest assured, we are actively working on a fix for this issue, and it will be addressed in an upcoming release. Thank you for your patience and support!

-I bought a new packaged food with a barcode. I don't plan to use it for a few days, but wanted to enter it before I put it away. There is no way to create a new food by scanning a barcode except by trying to log it in my consumption for today or another day. Doable, but cumbersome.

-whenever I type the first three letters of a food, it often displays random things, way up the list from where I actually find the food that starts with those three letters. Often they are not relevant to me. I think the algorithm is getting precious.

-I want to be able to set the default to most recent items logged, not best choices, under favorites and have it not revert. It usually stays on most recent in all foods, but sometimes reverse there as well. I really dislike this problem. I also would like to be able to re-order my favorites in my preferred order based on my usage. As it stands, there is no way to do this.

-every time I want to find this forum, I get logged out and have to log into it again, even if I'm logged into the app. This is strange.

-for some reason, it is impossible for me to put any tags for my posts.

-I can't upload a screen shot video to show you what is happening.

Detailed Changelogs for Beta Testing?

Hi all. I'm interested in participating some more in the beta program, and more generally in understanding the roadmap.

I see that the latest beta release is 4.45.0, and the version on the Apple App Store is 4.44.3

4.45.0 looks very similar to 4.44.3, which I just installed over. The changelog describes "photo logging updates, apple health and health connect fixes". Which is cool and all. But I don't really know how to test those.

Is the photo logging meant to be more… accurate? Was the under-the-hood prompting modified? If I chose to switch to Apple Health for my activity expenditure over Garmin to test this, what am I looking for? What should be broken?

Further, 4.42.0 says something about Voice Logging. Which sounds like something that'd need testing. But it doesn't exist in the latest build. I'm guessing it's a separate branch, and the beta releases have to go sequentially to install on top of the current release?

Anyway, I guess my feedback here is that detailed release notes/changelogs would be helpful, as a tester. If they exist, please point me in the right direction

Just came online this afternoon, for me anyway.

I did give it a couple shots with supper and I realized that this is a restaurant tool. If you’re fixing meals at home with packaging, you have your nutrition information there, that’s ultimately more accurate.

My only comment at this point is that when I camera logged my brisket point, it logged the brisket properly, however, the volume was light. I weighed 5 ounces, the camera logging said 0.33 cup.

When I click add food link, there doesn’t appear to be an option for using a camera. The announcement post in this forum (LOGGING FOOD category) said I could use a ChatGPT integration to add this feature. With no instructions, I can only assume that would be under “Connect Apps & Devices” in Chronometer, but I don’t see app beyond Apple Health.

Has anyone else managed to get this to work? If so, please clue me in!

Yes, I know there's a camera there, and I get it, but a little UI thing might make it more obvious that it's looking for an actual picture of yourself. Perhaps "No pictures yet" instead of "No snaps yet", since the word snapshots has multiple meanings, might help a first-time user.

Again, may just be my frame of reference. And probably not a huge deal.

Synced with Garmin Connect (Forerunner 965)

Discover -> Charts -> Manage Charts
Turn on "Blood Pressure + Heart Rate"

App becomes slow and unusable. (Some crashes, sometimes it takes 20+ seconds to render the chart, or it seems like the app has crashed as the spinner stops spinning)
When I reload the app and navigate, the chart eventually comes up.
When I swipe over to report (or dashboard) and back, it takes another 20+ seconds to re-render the graph. The chart settings are the last 2 weeks and display all days.

It's pretty reproducible.

The workaround is to go to Manage Charts and disable the chart.

I don't need it anyway (since I can view all of the data in Garmin Connect), but you may want to limit how many datapoints you render for a better user experience.

I was just playing.

Here are some first impressions of the voice log. Firstly, I love this idea. I have meathooks for hands and don't use predictive text, so I use almost exclusively voice or PC keyboards for entry. This is very much in my wheelhouse. I'm an appsec and pentester by day anyway.

Voice logging seems to use Apple's really context-irrelevant version of voice-to-text, or something similarly backward. If there's a way that you could connect to, I guess, ChatGPT or Whisper, or I don't know, whichever one ChatGPT is using...it is excellent compared to Apple with context.

If VoiceLogging hears the wrong word or lists a homonym, it doesn't seem like it wants to give me the apple keyboard to allow me to correct the entry.

I'm seeing numerous times where it says that it's listening and the button is highlighted, but it's actually not listening and not writing anything.

It would be a little more convenient if the beta voice logging button was not in the exact same place where the manual add was before, if it was put off to the side.

Obviously, this is beta, but it's presenting an orange error screen at the bottom instead of saying no match or item not found.

Would be good for workflow if the voice matched query were to send automatically after a pause, so that the user would not have to click the button a second time to stop speaking...but it would instead switch off automatically, based on either a pause in speech, or based on the returned results from the database, or "no results found"

I'm actually not certain if this issue is just the beta or if it's in the release version too.

Whenever I try to copy a custom food to make changes to it (using the Save a Copy option), the dropdown for the serving size still contains the previous size as well as the new.

As an example, here's a Starbucks Iced Hazelnut Oatmilk Shaken Espresso that I tried to modify from the Venti (24 oz) version to the Grande (16 oz). After changing the Serving Name, the "Nutrition Displayed per" box now shows "24 16 oz" with no way to fix it.

This happens every time I try to use an existing food to make a new one.

Hello --

I am using version 4.23.0 b1932-ib

I have not been able to use the Import Recipe feature since this release. I previously had created several Custom Recipes from my New York Times Cooking account, but can now receive an error.

I have also tried importing recipes from BettyCrocker.com and Foodandwine.com -- both have the same error message as the NYT Cooking import that I have included below. Is this error related to the current Beta release?

When a food is selected the page opens up and then needs the amount box to be touched before entry of the required amount.

Since touching selects and overrides the amount (if any), it would make it much quicker to have the cursor jump to the amount box on page opening ready to take the input.

Even better, it would be good to use the same system as the web version and be able to enter the amount directly without shifting to the food page.
