I am having Bariatric Surgery on Monday the 17 of April (2023). I have been on the required liquid diet for a week with another 4 weeks to go. In the last 3 weeks I have lost 11lbs. I am working with the doctors dietician and will be for at least the next year. I know that I will be needing to continue with water and other fluids for a long time and that is a good thing.
I am wanting to know the best way to use Chronometer for the duration of this journey. All help will be greatly appreciated. Bob

Just looking for anyone else who does IF or is going through meno and is IF. I'm 54, in the tsunami of hell called menopause and I'm currently IF 18/6 and 20/4 . I'm overweight and have sleep apnea which causes my blood glucose level to skyrocket even though I eat super healthy so....I'm pre-diabetes and my insurance won't pay for sleep test, c pap machine or weight loss meds to help my glucose levels so just stuck doing things myself trying to lose weight so I get rid of this sleep apnea and can actually lose weight like normal people. Very strict M-F and a little looser on the weekends trying to lose weight. Healthcare industry has let me down for sure. I pay a mortgage payment a month for insurance that doesn't pay for anything.

I've been using Cronometer as a Gold customer for almost 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it! In the past, I used nutritionix (free version) but apparently the company sold out and there does not seem to be any customer service whatsoever. Also, nutritionix was missing tons of items. I'm working towards a solid vegan diet/lifestyle and weight loss plan. I would like to hear from other vegans or vegetarians out there who may also be using Cronometer! Thanks and watch those calories, Ted

I wear an apple watch and sync activity. I've walked 3 miles so far today. I'm only trying to lose 1 pound per week over 8 weeks, so my targets seem reasonable. Do my consumed calories seem off? I'll likely do another walk, but it doesn't add up to that much. Yesterday I ate 2 large salads with just balsamic vinegar, veggies, legumes and grains and was also over. What am I doing wrong or what am I missing? I'm discouraged!

Hi everyone 👋

With Christmas about six weeks away, I thought it might be helpful (and motivating!) to start a small community check-in thread.

I’ve been using Cronometer for almost a year, and while I was really consistent for a long time, the last few weeks have been tough. Work has been overwhelming, and I’ve stalled on logging my food and workouts. I’m hoping a bit of accountability and connection will help me re-engage.

The idea:

For the next six weeks leading into Christmas, anyone who wants to join can share:

Daily or weekly logs

Nutrition summaries

Exercise or movement

Wins, struggles, small goals

Anything that helps you stay consistent

Nothing fancy, nothing perfect — just checking in so we can support each other and stay mindful through this busy season.

If you’re interested, please jump in! I’d love to do this together. 🌱

I can't digest raw vegetables and can only eat a few different veggies as long as they are cooked. Fruit causes severe inflammation for me, so it is just a healthier way for me to eat according to my personal health problems.

It would sure be nice to find a fellow keto eater here.

I see responsible, respected, conservative authorities universally focus on: low protein, potassium, phosphorus and sodium.

When I began my transformation, the illusion of perfection clouded my thoughts—seeing someone who was 100 lbs overweight now at a healthy weight felt like a magic wand had struck them. However, the truth is that old habits die slowly for most of us. That’s how I lost 60 lbs—it took a lot of work, often with the support of others. There were more successes than failures along the way. Today, those old habits lie dormant most of the time, with only an occasional appearance.

Forming new habits takes time; they don't become our everyday actions overnight. I love using Cronometer because it keeps me honest with myself. Stay committed! Keep going, even in the face of failure.

I am a wheelchair user and was looking for like-minded people, because losing weight in a wheelchair is even more difficult than as a pedestrian ;-((. Although I eat a healthy, plant-based, low-fat and wholesome diet, I find it very difficult to lose weight, just 4.5 kilos in the whole year, which is too little.
Maybe we can all exchange ideas, then we can find the mistakes and support each other. I look forward to your answers.

I'm in the process of enduring an ER visit/crisis then 3 "procedures," including surgery, for kidney stones. I want to avoid that awful pain and all the rest of the symptoms again, evermore. So being able to adequately, if not perfectly, track oxalates is one for the two main reasons I started using Cronometer.

But the more I learn, the more I've found that the info simply isn't included in the food databases, so it's not logged in our Diaries, and we can't track much at all. Blueberries show 0 oxalates. Not true. That's merely one example.

There are a lot of lists from "influencers" or "consultants," most contradictory. But there's also the gold-standard list from Harvard, even though it needs more frequent updating. I'm going to contact them.

I tried sending a message to Cronometer staff, but the Contact Us option is disabled -- on my laptop, at least.

Tracking oxalates is vital to anyone with a family history or personal experience of kidney stones. Isn't anyone else among Cronometer users concerned?

I found a couple of Apple-only apps and one Android one that I've downloaded to try. But I'd so much prefer to stick with Cronometer. If I can't use it for this key purpose, then it's just not worth the time it takes to enter info daily, I'm sorry to say.

Hi I’m a transfer from MFP which I used since 2008. I hadn’t been logging my food with them for the past 2 years or so but went to start logging again and was not happy to see the barcode scanner behind a paywall among other downgrades and decided to switch over to Chrono after some google research. So here I am. I lost 70lbs at one point from 2013-2019 and was less than 15lbs from GW but then my dad died, covid hit, and my family moved cross country where we knew no one. Anxiety and depression became severe and lo and behold I am here now having gained every single pound back. Since I lost it once with logging and low carb (not keto) I figure I will do it again.

Current SW 229

1st GW 199

Looking for some one to buddy up with for accountability. It doesn't have to be much - just maybe a commitment to post right here each week with how we're both doing - successes, areas for improvement, plans for the following week. Any interest?

Hello, I'm Sionainn and I'm from Ireland! I was googling for My Fitness Pal alternatives and found Chronometer so I decided to try it out. It is confusing but I'm sure I'll figure everything out! To be honest I am hopeless with weight loss plans but I keep trying again and again. Any tips on how to stay on track as I have a HUGE sweet tooth lol! Thanks in advance

Hi! I am an MFP Refugee and am frankly amazed that I didn't know about this app sooner. It seems a lot more intuitive and the ads far less intrusive than the other place. So far, my only issue is that I can't find some items from restaurants like Panera. Is it possible to add friends here? I use that as a way to stay accountable. Take care, everyone!
