So for a while, I have set my daily activity to zero and using a tracker to monitor my daily calorie from activity. I am mainly using my garmin epix pro gen 2, which also can track my exercises that I set up.
So I get the interesting feed in cronometer that breaks up my activity into active and rest, so the calorie counts are mixed between the daily activity entry from garmin and then extra calorie burn from any exercises I log.
This has worked pretty well.
I was curious to trya fitbit air, but that would require I guess turning off garmin and using health connect to sync activity to cronometer. And then logging exercises might be tricky, I guess I could turn off garmin in cronometer and only import activity from health connect. But does that sound like I would set it up correctly?

And if so, uh, how accurate do we think those calorie counts from a 24/7 wearable are compared to just setting a standard daily activity and add in exercise?

And I have an oura ring to track sleep...which...the fitbit air probably might replace....eventually. Sigh.

Supp Co is much better suited to tracking and comparing supplements than cronometer, but I find that I have to also enter most of my stack to Cronometer just to get a baseline for my daily intake. I like logging my daily supplements (use auto logging, then delete if I miss any) in cronometer so I don't use the redundant logging features in Supp Co, but I really want to focus organizing the supps and dose schedules in Supp Co vs entering them as custom recipes in cronometer.

Anyone at cronometer using Supp Co?

Is there any way to Default to your Favorites list when importing ingredients from a Recipe? Instead of using the Generic Result, it would be nice if when a Recipe Calls for say 'Milk' and I keep 'Dairyland 1% Milk' in my favorites, it would select this option. Perhaps as a user Setting option to search favorites vs a broad search?

This would drastically improve my user experience instead of swapping ingredients each time it imports, as it barely feels faster sometimes and I get drastically different macros sometimes based on selections.

Something like 'Mayonnaise' in a recipe, would be preferable if it searched my Favorites and Found 'Hellmans Lite Mayonnaise' as another example.

This would be a smaller data set for an initial query and default off to the primary database if a result isnt found?

Seems possible and reasonable.

Hi team,

I want Cronometer to import sleep and workouts/active energy from Apple Health so my daily calories burned (both Active and Total) are accurate. Apple Health is connected, but sleep and workouts/energy aren’t showing up.

Goal

Import Sleep (HKCategoryTypeIdentifierSleepAnalysis) for duration/trends.

Import Workouts (HKWorkoutType) and Active Energy (HKQuantityTypeIdentifierActiveEnergyBurned).

Clarify whether Cronometer uses Basal/Resting Energy (HKQuantityTypeIdentifierBasalEnergyBurned) or only adds Apple Health Active Energy to Cronometer BMR.

Observed

Apple Health shows complete sleep and workouts/active energy.

In Cronometer, no sleep entries; Calories Burned looks like BMR only.

Reconnect didn’t backfill.

Tried

Health permissions: Health app → Profile → Privacy & Security → Apps → Cronometer. Enabled Read (and Write where available) for Sleep, Active Energy, Basal/Resting Energy, Workouts (+ Heart Rate, VO₂ Max, Steps, Distance).

Cronometer settings: Settings → Integrations → Apple Health. Reconnected; toggled Sleep, Workouts, Active Energy. Looked for force sync/backfill.

Activity source: Profile & Targets/Energy set to From Device/Apple Health (vs. fixed activity).

Background: Background App Refresh on; Low Power Mode off; opened Cronometer post-workout to trigger read.

Data source/time: Verified Apple Watch as Data Source in Health, timestamps/timezone correct.

Questions

Which HealthKit types does Cronometer read today for Sleep, Workouts/Active Energy, and Basal/Resting Energy?

How are Total Calories computed with Apple Health? BMR (Cronometer) + Active Energy (Health), or does it also ingest Basal/Resting Energy?

Is there a way to backfill sleep/workouts for past N days/weeks after reconnecting?

Any known iOS/watchOS permission quirks or limits (e.g., only Apple Watch-sourced workouts)?

Are there debug logs/status to confirm which HealthKit records were read/skipped?

Thanks.

Thanks!

Hey there! Long time subscriber, but only an occasional logger because I really struggle to keep up with logging because I cook a lot. I’ve tried the recipe import feature, and it helps - but I often adjust the recipe as I cook, change it over time, and sometimes I’ll swap things on my meal plan. Between Cronometer and meal plan management tasks, which both involve scheduling and logging food, meal plan always wins - and I don’t have the features I need in Cronometer to make it my main meal planner.

I am a longtime Paprika user, but I’ve recently switched to Cooklist because it includes more intuitive pantry management and suggests recipes with AI, and it’s going to be a permanent switch for me. In Cooklist, when you have a recipe open and scheduled to a day, you can mark it as cooked, which then shows a panel to update your pantry ingredients. When I mark a recipe as cooked for one of my meals, I would love to add 1 serving of that recipe to my log for that meal in Cronometer, with the ability to review the imported recipe before completing logging if the recipe is new and not in my custom recipes.

I think it would be a great integration - I hope you’ll consider it!

I believe I am maybe missing something, but where do I find the " Import full data for the day instead of a single entry" setting. I have browsed Cronometer, Apple Health and even Apple Watch settings and cannot find that setting. I have searched the user manual and only get that setting showing for Garmin. I have found it before but cannot remember where it is located. I want compare the difference between full data and single entry. Thanks

Does anyone here have info on how to use exported CGM data (in csv) format to import into cronometer? I'd like some sort of script/api/utility to do this rather than having to manually enter my glucose data. I don't want to use the Stelo app because the app itself has poor detail quality and I want more granular info, like my readings AFTER a certain time of eating. So, I'm thinking I could do some work and get the data in using my own scripting. Thoughts appreciate.

Today, the issue still persisted so I disconnected both accounts in Whoop and Chronometer. Tried several times to reconnect in the mobile app and browser. Everytime with the same result. Whoop shows that there is an active connection but upon getting redirected to Chronometer, I get an error message: "Oops, something went wrong! There was an error with this request."
