Adding search function to "Foods" tab on mobile apps
I've been using Cronometer for 2 months now and I have to say that, overall, the experience the whole platform offers is fairly good. I have to say however that there is a big usability feature that is becoming more and more painful the longer I use the mobile apps (Android and iOS), and that is the lack of a "search"… -
Re: Should I up my intake if I still want to lose fat % but also exercise or not?
Yes BMI is not a good metric to track. At 6'3" 220lbs I'm on the verge of obesity according to BMI. The targets given by Cronometer (or other calculators) are great starting points. Understand that they come from studies on populations, and are averages. You specifically, however, are an individual. You must account for… -
Re: How can I use Cronometer as a meal-planner?
On the web version of the app, you can go Foods --> Ask The Oracle and search for a particular nutrient, asking the system to rank it by most per gram, or most per kCal. You can include or exclude certain food categories. I meal-plan about 3/4 of my meals. Most of us have 5-6 things we always eat. I put those in as… -
Re: always having the ml / mL option for drinks; alcohol; alternate spellings of foods
Hello @judoman_09 , Sorry for the delay in response! This one must have got a bit buried in our busy forum! ;) 1. For Beverages and items measured by volume, we use the serving size indicated on the label. Because Volume is not directly correlated to weight, we are unable to give a gram amount in these cases. I would in… -
Fasting features are unusable/useless to me. (Would like others to add their own experiences here!)
I have used all of the top fasting apps for Android pretty extensively, so please read this with the understanding that I am comparing Cronometer's fasting functionality to the functionality of a dedicating fasting app. I'd really like to use Cron for fasting, since I use it for everything else, but I don't enjoy it and… -
Re: Why do low-carb dieters fail in the long-term?
I think it's a mental issue rather than a food issue why it fails. Go into any supermarket and you are bombarded with special offers for anything high carb. Carbs are easily available and everywhere, usually deep-fried and full of additives. They smell delicious (freshly baked cinnamon danish anyone?) So it is an effort to… -
Re: Calorie deficit
not sure what is meant by rounding off, to lose a pound of a week you need a calorie deficit of 3500 calories a week (7 days) 500 multipled by 7 equals 3500, by cronometers calculations 499 multiplied my 7 equals to 3494 which gives you an incorrect calorie deficit for the week to lose a pound a week. Can you let me know… -
Re: Carnivore Diet
I thought that I should give an update of my progress on the OMAD carnivore diet and Intermittent fasting. I have been more or less on this eating lifestyle for nearly three years now. My starting weight was 260 kg (573 Lbs). In December last year, I had lost over 1/2 of my body weight eating nothing but high fat meat. I… -
Maximum daily limit progress bars
So I've just started using Cronometer, having never tracked my nutrition or calories before. I'm pretty much on the verge of buying premium, but the one thing holding me back right now is that for the nutrient summary section (the section under the diary with the progress bars) and for the highlighted nutrients and… -
Re: Getting all the recommended daily vitamins and minerals
Fortunately I get almost all vitamins and minerals to green (only vitamin K isn't always green). Fibers is my only problem now. The Way I followed is to look for every vitamin and minerals sources, filter those sources to the items I enjoy eating then make a plan suiting my schedule. I'll tell what I do but my plan may not…
