Swedish Ladder plus Suspension Trainer

The 50+ gym now has a suspension trainer. They installed a Swedish ladder which I attached the Nike suspension strap, much the same as TRX. The Swedish ladder has an extra attachment pull-up bar which the gym has ordered, that will be a bonus for me.

So far I'm the only person that uses the suspension strap. I've gotten many ideas from youtube trainers. I use it 5 days a week plus me other daily exercise, at home taijiquan and much walkabout.

Comments

  • I'll have to slack off the TRX stuff, with all the daily leg work I've been doing over several weeks seem to have given me Piriformis syndrome, overuse from excessive exercise (running, squatting), repetitive activities involving the legs.
So taking a break and back to weights. Went to a Yoga class last Tuesday, may do some more.

  • I've been using the TRX style trainer fairly often, often to experiment with advance yoga style poses.

I’ve had good luck mixing simple ladder holds with suspension rows, then adding slow eccentric movements to keep things joint‑friendly. Rotational moves, like standing oblique pulls, feel great with the extra stability from the rungs. If you ever want ideas for other gyms that set up similar gear, I’ve browsed https://www.gymstracker.com/ to see which places near me offer setups with ladders or suspension space.
