Too slow of a plan
I entered the required height/weight and desired weight and got a plan that has me losing a quarter of a pound per week resulting in 25 pounds in a year. That seems really slow to me but I see no way to change it. I can just exceed the caloric deficit and get there faster but it doesn't really leverage Cronometer the way it is supposed to work.

Yes, that is really slow. Kudos to your dedication! I don't think I could maintain or sustain your plan. There is a middle of the road solution and Cronometer can be leveraged to support you. Losing weight isn't just about calories in and calories out but it is one consideration. It is a lifestyle that contains many components. I won't bore you with a thesis.
If health/weight loss is your goal, there is lots of readily available information on You Tube for starters. I'll recommend one - Andrew Huberman who is at Standford and maintains his own You Tube channel.. Welcome to the wonderful world of hormones/metabolism/mitochondria/sleep/stress/exercise/quality of food and their effect on weight loss. Becoming the best version of yourself is an adventure....learning more has been so helpful on this journey and it is a constant and progressive pursuit for me. I hope this is an exciting and rewarding adventure for you.
Just a word of caution.....if you open this Pandora's Box, you will find differences of opinions even among eminent doctors and scientists. You will, over time and experimentation, determine what is best for you. Every person is different and the science is constantly growing. I wish you the best and have fun!

Thank you for that. I've seen, heard, and read about more theories than I can count. From Adele Davis and her molasses to Andrew Weil and whatever he thought to Dean Ornish to the Duke Rice diet and macrobiotics.
Benefits of being on the globe for 70 years is also kind of a curse. I can tell you all the things that are wrong or right with nearly every theory.
But I've not heard of Huberman so I'll look.
Most of my life is nearly perfect. Low stress, good exercise, as much sleep as I can get. I just need to find the caloric deficit that will bring me down to something I like better and closer to what the docs say is better.
I just need to figure out how to set up Cron so it meets my goals the way I want. It is a good tracker, though.

@CaptinBill Ugh...looks like I DID offer you a thesis when all you wanted was a simple answer. I thought you had slugged through a year to lose 25 pounds. Sorry. Perhaps Cronometer is being ultraconservative for several reasons.

NP. Totally worth it to me. I'm listening to Huberman right now so thanks. I sent in a note to support to see what they say about the slow goal.

Are you looking at the site or app?
If you go to More -> Targets -> Weight Goal, are you able to adjust the goal? Going through the update flow for the goal should also allow you to change the rate by tapping +/- on either side of the rate

Not intuitive but, yeah, changing your weight goal brings up the right screen. Which I'm sure it did the first time but I'm old and forgetful.
That's what I was looking for @davidxc . Thx. -

BTW, @Phoenix4life , I just listened to the Huberman podcast on scheduled eating, AKA fasting, and all kinds of bells went off. I was already so close to doing just that and now I can make a minor change and I expect will have major benefits. So, thanks again.

@CaptinBill Happy you found it productive. Best wishes on your new protocol, I'm assuming that you will be incorporating some form of fasting. I'm currently water fasting and Intermittent fasting (18/6) each week and am really pleased with the results, but always reseaching for improvement and knowledge. I'm sure you will be successful with your plan...wishing you the best of health.
