Using Cronometer for 10 days - so far so good!

Greetings from a newbie!

So recently, I received a 'bad' screening test for Type 2 diabetes, and it freaked me the hell out. An injury a couple of years back put me on a downward spiral, so I know how I got here, but I'm determined to do what I can to reverse this situation.

I'm 10 days into Cronometer, and 10 lbs have already vanished. 😱

Fast, right? Not really. My AI nutritionist coach is doing a great job on the dietary side of things and says the first lbs to go are mostly water anyway, so it will slow down soon. My doctor is also closely monitoring me through various blood tests.

Is anyone here on a similar journey to beat Type 2 diabetes?

  • Also had a recent diagnosis. Also freaked out! And also determined : )

  • Determined is a good thing, I think. I feel exactly the same

I don't know about you, but it feels like information overload to learn everything about diabetes. Logging my food has been great, but the biggest breakthrough was getting a CGM. Now I can see whether all the internet tips work for me in real-time. Unsurprisingly, some of them don't at all!

Like... having a small amount of steel-cut oats with breakfast.... or a few chickpeas with a high protein dinner. These things are supposed to be ok in small amounts, but I got a big glucose spike on the CGM both times. Jumped on the treadmill immediately to take the spike down and burn it off, but sheesh... I wasn't expecting that. I guess what works for other people doesn't necessarily work for me, although that might change in time. Just glad to have the data so I can learn what my body can handle.
