Metric to track poops
Hi there,
Bit of a weird feature request
Its quite beneficial for people with gut issues / IBS to track how many bowel movements there are each day. Useful for tracking what foods might be causing constipation etc.
Awesome website you guys have, great job!.
Cheers.

That's actually a great idea! You can add a custom biometric on the web version. I think I might do that now. I've been thinking of all kinds of things to track. I'm pretty obsessed with poop because of gut issues, so thanks for the tip.

@baz I second that request. I have been trying to find an app that will help with the correlation between the two. I also have issues no matter what dietary track I am on.

Hi @Baz ,
Gold subscribers can add custom biometrics when logged into the web version. There is a green plus button next to the list in the add biometrics screen. You can then add in any custom biometrics, like bowels for example .

Hi @finnd1 ,
You get to choose the unit of measurement when creating custom biometrics. In this case, most people will want to track the number of times they go to the bathroom, but you can measure the size if it is important you .

I just tried a custom biometric. Nice feature, but it shows up as a null (blank) in mobile app, so sad.
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.

@p0wer_lifter can you try force quitting the mobile app and restarting it? Let me know if that fixes the display issue.

HA. That did it. Excellent. Now that I found it, I'm planning to track 'all-day' items like water intake. It's not quite biometrical(?) but it'll work. Thanks.

This is a bit of an old topic, and surprised it hasn't been added to healthkit yet, with bowel movement and microbiome health being important. Currently use PCal.

Bearable is another app that's useful for tracking this, and trying to correlate various factors to symptoms.
