Hello I am a Dr.Mercola follower on social networks and I bought your book here in Portugal. In that same book I found valuable information for a healthy aging. I do not suffer from any disease but I was already a morbid obese, having undergone stomach reduction surgery in 2008. Even though I was thinner by then, my… -

Hello Dr. Mercola I am your follower on social networks and I bought your book here in Portugal. In that same book I found valuable information for a healthy aging. I do not suffer from any disease but I was already a morbid obese, having undergone stomach reduction surgery in 2008. Even though I was thinner by then, my… -
Re: Should I up my intake if I still want to lose fat % but also exercise or not?
Yes BMI is not a good metric to track. At 6'3" 220lbs I'm on the verge of obesity according to BMI. The targets given by Cronometer (or other calculators) are great starting points. Understand that they come from studies on populations, and are averages. You specifically, however, are an individual. You must account for… -
Re: How can I use Cronometer as a meal-planner?
On the web version of the app, you can go Foods --> Ask The Oracle and search for a particular nutrient, asking the system to rank it by most per gram, or most per kCal. You can include or exclude certain food categories. I meal-plan about 3/4 of my meals. Most of us have 5-6 things we always eat. I put those in as… -
Re: Recomendation of multivitamin without B-12
Hi Maya, The B12 doses you have been taking do not sound very high. Watch these videos from Dr Greger first: https://nutritionfacts.org/video/vitamin-b12-recommendation-change/ https://nutritionfacts.org/video/cheapest-source-of-vitamin-b12/ https://nutritionfacts.org/video/daily-source-of-vitamin-b12/ Dr Greger says the… -
Re: I have to lose weight per drs orders are the numbers given really work.
I lost a lot of weight by going low fat, veggie route. Before that it was Atkins, but that pushed up all my cholesterol numbers, hence low fat. And I agree that eating lean meats, more fish, lots of veggies, fat free yogurt etc. is a great way to go, esp if you have bad cholesterol numbers. But something weird happened… -
Re: always having the ml / mL option for drinks; alcohol; alternate spellings of foods
Hello @judoman_09 , Sorry for the delay in response! This one must have got a bit buried in our busy forum! ;) 1. For Beverages and items measured by volume, we use the serving size indicated on the label. Because Volume is not directly correlated to weight, we are unable to give a gram amount in these cases. I would in… -
Re: 100% needed? Help.
I think there are two (at least) trains of thought when it comes to micronutrient intakes, and it probably depends on what guideline -- or "diet" -- you're following. In Australia there is the Australian Dietary Guidelines which present the Recommended Dietary Intake (RDI) for vitamins, minerals, macros, etc, for healthy… -
Re: My zinc-copper reading never changes. why?
Assuming daily variations it will be changing but perhaps not by much. On the web , go to Trends, Full Report and add nutrient charts for Zinc, Copper and Energy. For me, Zinc and Copper seem to move together with Energy. On these charts it isn't easy to see differences in the Zn:Cu ratio. To see the numbers, on the web,… -
Re: K2 vs K
@butterfly The best introduction to K2 is the book Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox by Kate Rheaume-Bleue. The book's not perfect but it addresses all your questions. The most studied variants of K2 are MK-4 and MK-7. They are found in different kinds of foods. You might try to intentionally eat pastured eggs, butter,…
