(Bug) not enough measurement options

When entering my half cup of bone broth my only measurement option is ml. Need cup and Oz.

  • Hi @WendiLassiter ,

This is as a result of the food listing you are using. It looks like the food you are using is not reported as a weight based serving size - this is likely as a result of the company not listing a weight on the packaging associated with the nutrition facts.

We recommend using a weight measurement for serving size; Weight will always be the most accurate serving option. We have a great blog post written by our founder and CEO, Aaron Davidson, regarding data choice and food measurement. Take a look, as it contains some valuable information: https://cronometer.com/blog/6-tips-getting-nutrition-data/

NCCDB listings typically have the most options for serving sizes (And contain the best data!). We are limited by the information contained in the nutrition facts table when adding serving sizes to the user submitted CRDB listings.

Once you have measured the weight per mL or set amount of mL (ie. tbsp, Cup, fl oz) for a particular food you can easily add serving size options with the corresponding weights for that food by creating a custom copy of the database listing.

Select the listing by searching for the food in the foods tab of Cronometer. Choose the settings menu in the top right corner and select "Edit a copy". Then add the convenient serving sizes that are relevant to you. Save this food as a custom food and use this the next time you enter it into your diary.
