Omega-9 Tracking

Options

Pretty simple! Please add Omega-9 to your lipids section.
I can understand why it might not be there if there isn't enough data on the content in foods but if the data is there, adding it would be great!

  • You got it @aonphléacs ! We don't have enough data from our trusted sources to add this one yet, however when data becomes available we will certainly add it!

Seriously. I just finally got diagnosed with a deformed pancreas. I NEED to restrict my fat intake as low as possible to minimize my chronic pancreatitis. 20g a day seems to be the upper threshold before the pancreas pain and severe digestive symptoms return. I have to fully rely on supplements to meet my nutritional needs, because eating whole foods has too high of a fat content, seriously even oats and chickpeas are high in fat to me now. It is horrible. Having the omega 9 data for whole food items would make a big impact on my ability to track and balance my intake and needs. Vegan since 1999 so that is nonnegotiable, especially now I finally know what has been wrong with my body after a very long 48 years. Avoiding all fat is the only solution for my deformed pancreas, I feel healthy for the first time in my life. Please help us biological outliers track our data! It doesn't have to be 95% accurate with a 0.05 p-score or anything like that, we will take 75% accuracy, just please let us have the omega 9 data. Thank you, from a very long term user, your tracking app is the only one I ever use.

  • If Omega 9 = Oleic acid there is a data field for this (Oleic) in the NCCDB database, the question then is how often this field is populated.
