Tracking bodily functions

I have been keeping a very basic log of BMs under the Notes section, but I think integrating the Bristol Stool Chart or other means of description could be a very helpful tracking (s)tool.

  • Hi @NorCalGal you can do this for your own account if you like! Gold users have access to creating custom biometrics. You can create your own custom Biometric for BM's and enter the scale you choose! • Hilary,
I appreciate the response, but I'm not sure the custom biometric tracking feature would really function much different than keeping personal notes. The reason I suggested integrating the Bristol Tool Chart was the ability to present the user with a visual image to assist in their categorization. Well, that and that it would be presented as an option rather than someone having to come up with it on their own. This would have the dual effect of making more people consider tracking their bowel activities and also of normalizing it. Anyway, I appreciate the response. Have a great day!

  • Hi @NorCalGal my suggestion is more regarding a bit of a workaround to make this request possible for you within our existing framework. By creating a custom biometric for yourself, you can use the Bristol stool chart and your scale would have be each type. So if you have a type 2 stool, then enter a biometcric value of 2.
This way you can chart your stool types over time, and even against other biometrics or nutrients. For instance, you could add the stool type biometric and fibre as a biometric, and see if you could correlate nutrient intake with a stool type!
