OCR & New Food Registration Automation
(This may have been asked elsewhere, but I couldn't locate it).
Is it possible to add a new feature in the app using the phone's camera with OCR system for acquiring values from the table of nutritional values of a product to automatically insert it on the cronometer?
Maybe you're already working on this feature...
Thanks!
Luca

Hi @luca,
We're currently reading the nutrition facts table for American type labels!
In the mobile app, if you scan the barcode of a product that is not in the database, you'll be prompted to take a picture of the front and back label of your food. If it's an American or Canadian label, we'll read the nutrition label and auto-fill the nutritional values for you.
We're hoping to extend this feature to other label types as well!

I *think* this feature is present on my version already---my problem is that the new submission isn't added to my own diary and food library, so, rather than entering it twice (once for Cronometer and once for me), I no longer use this feature.

Hello @Pangloss ,
That seems strange, it should be adding the food to your custom foods at the end!
Do you think you could send us a screen recording at support@cronometer.com?

Thanks Marie-Eve,
I live in Italy and the food I normally use is italian. I think it could be great to connect some italian partner for doing this and I'm sure you'll become leader with your app in this Country.
