Error when entered fiber is larger than entered carbs

I am trying to enter the values for the custom food "Planted.chicken natural". The values for it can be found at: https://en.planted.ch/food

The problem is that cronometer does not like the amount of the fiber to be larger than the amount of carbs. If the amount gets larger, like with this product, the value gets reset to the value of the carbs or sometimes to less than one.

  • Have you changed the label type to Europe? The fiber is separate there and if I remember, Zurich is somewhere over there, which is the location listed at the bottom of that website.

  • Hi @forumjhan ,

If you are using the website to create a custom food, you can change the nutritional table format to 'European', and input the numbers directly into the Nutrition Facts table and you will get the correct Net Carbs calculation, Otherwise, if you are inputting the values into the 'American' format or in the mobile app, you have to enter the sum of the carbs plus fiber under Carbohydrates.

You can learn more about our label types here:
    https://cronometer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018869171

We are hoping to bring this feature to the mobile app in the future. Meanwhile, if you are creating custom foods on your mobile device, you will have to enter the sum of net carbs plus fiber into the carbohydrate field.

    Cheers,

  • Thank you for your answers.

I always use the website to enter the values and so far I didn't know that you can enter the values directly into the labels as well, which seems to work correctly. Good to know.

If I understand the documentation and the behaviour correctly It seems to me that values from non American labels should currently be entered into the label of the website directly instead of the tables below. Is this correct?

  • @forumjhan

If you want the carbohydrates to add up correctly, enter the information in the nutrition facts table directly.

If you are entering the values in the fields below, you will have to manually calculate the sum of net carbs plus fiber into the carbohydrate field.
