Meat, raw vs. cooked
There are a lot of meat entries that do not identify if the nutritional value is for a cooked portion or a raw portion. For instance, 4 ounces of beef steak, chuck, visible fat eaten is 374 calories, but I do not know if that is for raw or cooked. I've always been taught to assume it means raw unless otherwise posted. Is this correct?

typically if it is not otherwise listed, it is measured in the typically prepared way. So for something that is inedible raw, it would be posted as the cooked value.
