"Dry serving" serving size on store bought pasta

edited February 2021 in Ask An Expert

Hi, I noticed that when I log a Pasta Roni as a side dish for dinner, the only serving size options are "Dry Serving", grams or ounces.
Why is this when the boxes always includes "As Prepared" nutritional information? Wouldn't that be more accurate? I can't imagine people actually eating dry pasta without cooking it.
Is there something that I'm missing?
Thank you.
