Website Caloric Budget Indicator
Would you please tweak the Caloric Budget indicator on the website to make it clear if we are under or over budget?
When we are under, it's easy to understand that we have [n] number of calories remaining. However, if we're over, the presence of the minus sign makes it confusing.
I believe that this is due negative numbers generally carrying the connotation of being under/less than a target.
My recommendation is to remove the minus sign and alternate the color of the remaining calories to visually call out if the person is under (green) or over (red) budget.
This is approach is consistent with financial reporting in which numbers that are out of bounds (expenses over budget or revenue under forecast) are called out visually using red.
