Bob's Red Mill Oat Bran, Dry, 40 Grams
Both NCCDB + USDA on Cronometer have identical information about dry oat bran, 98 calories per 40 grams. I had to write to Bob's Red Mill the other day about their oat bran because the label says it is 150 calories per 40 grams, dry. I wasn't aware there could be 50% variation in calorie content for basic agricultural items like oat bran, but apparently there are. BRM paid for a nutritional analysis for their product and they claim the 150 number is correct. I can't argue with them because they are one of the most reputable companies in the business. https://www.bobsredmill.com/oat-bran-cereal.html

After thinking about this a little while, I'm of the opinion they are mistaken. Their rolled oats have 158 calories per 40 grams, dry. How is it possible that the calorie content of just the bran would nearly match the calorie content of rolled oats? https://www.bobsredmill.com/regular-rolled-oats.html
