Importing steps and setting step goals and tracking.

A feature where Cronometer imports steps from Apple Health (and other platforms) would be welcome, and also a custom chart to view your progress and set step goals.

  • Oh don't worry. You won't get it. You must be new. We've only been requesting steps now for several years. But Cronometer thinks THEY know better than users what enhancements need to happen. Meanwhile you can track lots of SUPER IMPORTANT and COMMON crap like Curling, Sky Diving, Fishing, "Caretaking" (huh?), Laundry, and "Desk Work" @50 cal per hour. OH and they managed to add a "DAILY TARGET EDITOR" - something that no normal person would need.

And of course, the data sources still suck. TONS of foods omitting Omega 3 and other elements from the Vitamin and Minerals table. So you get the pleasure of having to keep trying different ones you KNOW have the element until you get a hit from some table or some "brand".

Any minute now some person will explain to you how it's perfectly NORMAL to not import step data and you should just stop asking and import the calories.

But don't worry - that sync doesn't work EITHER.

  • I will leave data import for someone else.
The data sources are the NCCDB and USDA which are the leading US based food sources, also CoFID from the UK. One challenge is that each country has its own food database (Canada, NZ, Aus, European countries). Crono and other apps do allow users to input foods (CRDB in the Crono choices). So it is really up to the brainiacs at these government organizations to provide data.

I'm well aware of that. That's why I SAID IT.

And I really couldn't care less about "other countries". But I can see you're one of the big government lovers who believe government is the solution to everything.

Any BUSINESS who choses to put forth DATA is responsible for IT'S DATA no excuses. It's called BUSINESS 101. Customer/supplier quality.

LOL this entire SERVICE is all about [bad] data.

Then there's the ugly orange and black motif they changed to.
