Suggesting Foods...

I don't know when the 'suggest food' function was updated but OMG!!!! You have made one happy customer here!!!!

Part of the reason why I was on and off with Cronometer - which I love anyways, I guess my newly acquired 7 years anniversary badge is a testament to that 😁 - was that it was really difficult to plan meals to maximise nutrition to meet the kind of 'lows' I had.

For example, I noticed I do not meet my calcium RDAs, almost ever, folate and potassium also tend to fall by the wayside, and iron can be.... a little patchy... so when I have time on my hands, I can plan meals that kind of somehow improve things slightly but on days when I'm busy at work, come home to an empty fridge or am not in the mood or too stressed, I just kind of give up and that is usually my excuse to fall off the wagon...

I had tried the 'suggest foods' thingy before but it was weird and pretty much useless, you'd end up having the same recipe for almost everything - and it was not a tempting one either.

Now, DRUM ROLL!

The new AI-powered 'Suggest Food' is just brilliant!

First: it lets you filter by diet, so although I am not a vegetarian, I often prefer to eat vegetarian food, and you can also filter with Vegetarian+Gluten Free if you need to.

Second: you can filter by meal type.... in the previous incarnation, you just got that one or two stodgy recipes I felt and that was that...

and

Third: you can exclude foods you are trying to stay away from - either because you are allergic, or don't like or whatever....

Now, you'd think that would be enough to win me over, but no.... Once you've asked the AI to suggest food, and it has brought up a list of possible recipes with estimated macro targets to match what you need to have to reach your nutritional needs for the day, you can then check the highlighted nutrients it will provide you with and then you can also check the estimated nutrition score for the recipe....

Oh, and....... if you click on the 'ingredients' link under the recipe name, you get the breakdown of what you need to gather for your meal, and you can still remove any ingredient you don't want or don't have in your cupboard.... B)

That is just brilliant brilliant brilliant!!!! Thank you for this major improvement.

I now know that on my way home from work, I can just ask Crono to suggest what I could have for super and get a much better nutrition than with my old ways of grabbing some easily put together ingredients and lots of bread, and lots of cheese to feel me up πŸ˜‰

So this is probably not the right channel to put this comment in, but I really wanted to say how excited I am, and I really feel it will help me be much more consistent at logging my food!

Once again, thank you for updating this fantastic function!

Now, what I'd love to have next 😁 is the possibility of having a sort of list of food, ingredients etc I have in my house, so that I could also produce shopping lists and buy stuff to help me manage longer term.... but please, the team can give themselves a good pat on the back... thank you guys!
