Syncing I-phone and I-pad

Hello, I am a gold member and put Cronometer on my I-pad first. I then put the free app on my I-phone thinking that the info/data I entered on one would sync and show on the other and visa-versa, when signing in with the same user and password, but as off now nothing is syncing with my I-phone. Is this even a possibility. I would think I is as I won’t always have my I-pad available. Can someone please explain how to possible do this?
Thanks!

  • Hi @Alf5854 ,
It absolutely should be syncing! Make sure you have logged in with exactly the same information first. I would suggest logging out and logging back in on both devices so you can ensure that the information is correct.
I would also suggest ensuring that you are viewing the same day on both devices.

  • I've updated my iPhone 7 from iOS 10 to iOS 11.3 today but now whenever I will open the CRON-O-Meter app it simply is crashing right on the startup. Can you help me Hilary?

  • Hi @VikasKundu , Have you updated your Cronometer app as well? Make sure that you are updated to the latest version. If you are, try force closing your app, and then restart it.

  • Does the syncing work from the app version to the web version?

(I'd like to use the app for recording daily foods, but if I'm entering a whole recipe or something it would be easier to use a keyboard and full screen).

  • Hi @User1010 , Your data is associated with your email address! This means that as long as you log in to your account associated with the same email address, your data will always be synced across any device you log in from!

  • Does it take a while for that to happen? I signed up on the computer, then went to my phone and it wouldn't let me log in so I made a new account (but with the same e-mail address). But there doesn't seem to be synching between them. I entered stuff in the phone app at least an hour ago and it's not showing up on the website...

  • Nevermind - I fixed it! (Logged out of account on both devices, changed password, re-logged in).

  • Hello @User1010 ,

    Please email us at support@cronometer.com

It looks like you most likely have a typo in the email used to create your first account. The system will normally not let you create a second account using the same email address. It seems that you now have two accounts.

When you logged into the other account, it appears as if your data is not syncing because it's linked to a different email.

I would suggest going to the 'Profile' tab on your phone and computer and comparing the email address used.

    Regards,

    Marie-Eve
