Reports Missing Critical Nutrients: Iodine, Choline, Biotin, Molybdenum & Chromium

Hey Cronometer Team & Community,

I'm loving the app for macro & micro tracking, but there's a major gap that's frustrating: The Nutrition Report and Daily Summary Export are missing these key vitamins & minerals:

Iodine, Choline, Biotin, Molybdenum & Chromium

These show up fine when zooming into individual foods (great!), but they're absent from nutrition reports, and exports. So adding them should not be a "big deal" as the fields already exist for each food!

  • Iodine NEEDS to be front-and-center—thyroid health is huge, and over-supplementing is a real risk as it gets more popular.
  • Choline is vital for liver function (hello, NAFLD - a growing epidemic).
  • Biotin from eggs, molybdenum & chromium for metabolism—these aren't "nice-to-haves"; they're essential for precise tracking.

Again: The fields/data are already present on individual foods. They just aren't showing in Nutrition Report or the Daily Summary export. Thus, there is NO way to see how much of these key nutrients one is getting; thus we can't see if we are, for example, getting too much Iodine or too little!

Is this a free vs. Gold/Pro thing? I'd upgrade in a heartbeat if it unlocks this - it's a game-changer for health insights. Can we get them added ASAP as they've been missing from these reports for years? Would love official word or a workaround!

Thanks for building such a solid tool - hoping to make it even better!

EDIT: I signed up for Gold annual subscription. Same issue - nutrition report & daily summary export do not contain these critical nutrients. However, I am able to create custom single nutrient charts. However, this is just the daily amounts... it would still be best to be able to see these in the aggregate sum on the Nutrition Report & Daily Summary export if at all possible. Thanks!

(sorry, I should have put this in 'Feature Requests' but I can't change it unless someone from Cronometer Team can change the category for me? Thanks!)

I heard back from Cronometer Support - there IS a way to have these nutrients displayed:

Some nutrients are not visible by default as they are not generally available from our nutrition data sources. Since there is very little data for these nutrients in our database, your tracked values may be significantly lower than they actually are.

However, if you still wish to track them, settings can be changed by following these steps:

    • Go to the More tab > Targets + Profile sub-tab
    • Scroll down to the Nutrient Targets section
    • Select the Nutrient Category "Vitamins" for Choline and Biotin, and "Minerals" for Iodine, Molybdenum, Chromium, then check the Visible box to have it shown in your Diary and Reports
    • You can then customize the values in the fields below. If you'd like to set custom values, kindly check the Custom box and input amounts on the Daily Target and Maximum.
