What is the accuracy of $30 blood machines and what should I buy and measure?
The book I'm reading (Keto for Cancer by Kalamian) says Dr Seyfried recommends the Abbot Precision Xtra monitor to calculate GKI. I found it on Amazon for ~$30 but then I saw that I need "strips" and lancets and there are different kinds and sizes. The ketone ones go for about a buck in quantity, although the glucose strips are cheaper. I also saw reviews and Reddit posts saying you don't need to spend anything on the machine as it is inaccurate and has to be calibrated. ("Just stay in the macro zone") I don't mind spending a few bucks, but I hate wasting money. Can anyone point me to a real review of this? Is the Precision Xtra worth buying? I don't mind reading.
