Push Notifications and Alerts

As a dedicated user of your nutrition tracking app, I want to suggest the addition of customizable push and pop-up notifications for individual nutrients in a future update. Many of us are highly focused on tracking specific nutrient thresholds critical to our health—such as sodium, saturated fat, potassium, or added sugar.

Currently, the app's interface provides excellent visual progress indicators as we log food, but it would be tremendously helpful if users could set up real-time push or pop-up alerts that notify them when they're approaching or exceeding personally defined daily limits for selected nutrients. This kind of feature would empower users to make immediate, informed dietary choices—whether at home or dining out—and would be especially valuable for managing conditions like hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes.

Ideally, these alerts could be user-configurable for nutrient type and threshold, and operate across both mobile and web platforms. Thank you for your continued development of Cronometer and for considering ideas from the active user community.
