Contributor Highlights & Recognition System
Hi Cronometer team,
I’d love to suggest a new feature that could both strengthen the food database and encourage more community participation.
Feature Idea:
Introduce a contributor recognition system that highlights and/or rewards users who actively help improve the food database. This could include categories like Top Contributors of the Week, Month, or Year, based on the number or quality of verified food entries and data corrections they submit.
Why This Matters:
Cronometer’s database is one of its biggest strengths, and community contributions are a key part of keeping it accurate and expanding it.
Recognizing contributors builds motivation—many users enjoy feeling that their efforts matter.
Public acknowledgment (even something simple like a badge, leaderboard, or profile highlight) can attract more people to participate.
This drives a positive feedback loop: more high-quality submissions → stronger database → better experience for all users.
Even a lightweight system would go a long way in making the contribution process feel more rewarding and community-driven.
Thanks for considering!
