Beware of bogus intercepts of attempt to link Cronometer with Apple Health
Users please exercise caution!!! Tech people, please address this abuse of Chronometer. I followed all of the instructions Cronometer provides in laptop version for linking with Apple Health and importing/exporting particular data. Specifically, Chronometer requires that the connection be made through Phone apps, so I downloaded Chronometer Phone App on iPhone and started following stepwise instructions there. When I aattempted to make the link with Apple Health, I got a response from something like "promen" asking me to enter a credit card and telling me I wouldn't be charged. Red flags went up, but I wanted to trust both Apple and Cronometer -- it wasn't clear to me which one was actually asking for the credit card, but I stupidly entered one. I realized the whole thing had to be bogus when I entered an email for purposes of confirmation which was off by a letter and it didn't bounce back. In other words, it wasn't about the email. The name of the responding party then change to something called "yiozad." As soon as I signed out, I went back in and deleted the account with yiozad, which apparently has nothing to do with either Apple or Cronometer. I then went to the credit card I had given them and locked it, but Promen already had charged about $35.00, which I will of course challenge. This is a complete nightmare for your customers. Why aren't you providing secure connections????? If I am hit with any more bogus charges, you will be hearing from me with a demand for reimbursement. Please address this issue immediately.
