Why are USDA and NCCDB calories for oat bran wildly wrong?
Total calories does not match Atwater numbers for nutrients by a wide margin.
For 100g, the USDA entry claims 246 Calories. However Atwater numbers calculate thusly: 7g fat * 9kcal + 66.2g carb * 4kcal + 17.3 protein * 4kcal = 397 kcal. Even subtracting all calories from fiber, 15g, yields 337 kcal. The NCCDB entry for oat bran is similarly wildly wrong.
Bob's Red Mill oat bran numbers match USDA for macronutrients, but total calories is calculated correctly.

I would have reported this in the app, but it requires photos of front and back of the product. This can't be done for USDA and NCCDB entries.
