Fitbit input no longer displaying consistently throughout the day
I'm assuming this is connected to the official changeover to Google Health (which I don't like and I'll eventually replace the Fitbit with something better), but since the Cronometer app had me relink it about a week ago, my activity/calories remaining in the Cronometer app has fluctuated. Just now I had it tell me that my calories burned for the day were 200 more than it displayed a few minutes later. This isn't a flickering-while-syncing, this is displaying my calories burned at 2600-odd while I added other items, then after refreshing the app, dropped back down to 2400-odd. I believe this has happened a couple times previously in the past week or so, I was just busy and initially dismissed it as me remembering incorrectly, but I definitely saw it just now.
I know the Fitbit connection isn't the most accurate, but I've been using it with Cronometer since May and consistently losing weight by following the combination in the Cronometer app. My days are often very different in activity so it's important for me to be able to plan around, say, dinner with friends on a day when I've walked six miles versus a telecommute day where I haven't done much more than take out the trash. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I have been noticing this as well for the last couple of weeks. It's getting very irritating, because it's constantly going up and down with no reason for the change. It has been very inconsistent lately. I also had to resync my fitbit to the cronometer app recently. I've been using fitbit since the spring and cronometer since January.

I started forcing the sync with Google Health and that seems to get the correct data. But it’s very annoying.

same issue for me, hoping this bug gets resolved soon

After checking again, it is not a sync issue. It’s the adjusted baseline that keeps changing, and the tracker calories switch from two separate entries—activity and exercise combined. But it’s a Cronometer adjusted baseline subtotal that changes.
Steps to see this: Swipe to yesterday
- press Expenditure and scroll to view breakdown of calories
- take a screenshot
- return to diary and change an entry
- Return to Expenditure view to compare changes

Yes I noticed this too. How do we know if this issue is being addressed by cronometer?

use Contact Us in Support menu to ask Cronometer team.
For now, my workaround is to set weight target to lose weight slowly, for me that’s .5 lb/wk to result in -200 remaining calories. This will help me to stop going over (I have been gaining instead of maintaining because of this discrepancy).
