Calcium in low fat milk vs low fat yogurt vs low fat greek yogurt

This does not make any sense, but the database shows two times as much calcium in plain low fat yogurt as a comparable weight of milk and greek yogurt.

Other data online has a more logical outcome of the amounts being very similar.

I know this is the NCCDB database vs the USDA but I double checked my entries and can make zero sense of this since Calcium is not added during the production process.

  • I double checked everything and this IS correct. I gather the straining of yogurt to make Greek yogurt actually releases calcium in the acid whey.
