How to handle adding simple foods
Hello, newbie to Cronometer, and I'm having trouble. I've gone through the docs and can't seem to find what I need.
So far I've used the photo log - which is great. Except when it isn't. Two instances have frustrated me and led me to abandon logging my meal:
- Having steak and mashed potatoes. It misidentified the steak. I was looking for "beef new york striploin grilled". Tried several variations. Couldn't find anything. There were a lot of brand specific entries. But not just plain new york striploin. I get my meat from a local butcher. Not a supermarket. I don't have nutrition information.
- Having a salad with roasted beetroot. Very similar thing. I could not find anywhere just plain old roasted beetroot. It was all specific commercial items.
How do i add and get the nutritional value of these things when I don't necessarily know the nutritional value? Do I have to go look up the nutritional value for each item I'm eating? If yes, what's a good tip to make it easy? I know myself. If it's not easy, it's not going to happen.

When I have a food item that's not in the Cronometer, I google the nutritional value and add it as custom food and save it as favorite. I hope with users adding new food items that Cronometer will make it official item in the database someday.
