Protein Requirements
I just read "the art and science of low carbohydrate performance". The suggested amounts of protein for active people, like myself, are MUCH higher than the set amount in the moderate profile on the cronometer. This setting only allows me 43 grams of protein a day, which I feel is very limiting. While I don't want to… -
Re: Strange calorie discrepancy - whole wheat pita
Is this a prepackaged item? What is the net weight of each pita on the package? 1 extra large pita on NCCDB is 114g. That could be one way to figure out the issue. (You can find out the weight of an NCCDB item by first adding 1 extra large pita to your diary, then switching the entry unit to g or oz on the web app.) -

Re: no oil WFPB diet
@aquabluebabe I just calculated your BMI and although it may feel like you have a lot to lose, objectively speaking, you have a small amount of additional weight. :) I would suggest aiming for a 1/2 lb - 1/4 lb of weight per week as this is more likely to be sustainable and not have a negative impact on your metabolism. -
How do I enter my own amounts for custom recipe?
This is my first day trying to use Cronometer & I'm already stuck 🙃 I make a Coconut Kefir Chia Pudding - I use the full 1 L bottle, add my other ingredients & split into 12 jars, each jar is a single serving in my family. Coconut Kefir only allows for a 3/4 cup entry ... our serving works out to only 1/3 cup ... how do I… -

How to add portion sizes for custom meals
I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle portion sizes for custom meals. Let's say I always make my ham sandwich with an 8" hoagie, 6 slices of deli ham, and 1 slice of cheese. Later, I decide that I'd like a snack, so I'm just going to eat half a hoagie. I can't see how to adjust the portion size in the app. My… -

Re: Question About Nuts and Seeds
@Nemo Including one serving of nuts/seeds per day (1 ounce or ~1/4 cup) hasn't been demonstrated to lead weight gain and in fact, may actually help with weight loss. The interesting thing about many nuts and seeds is that because there is so much fibre and protein (along with a tough shell), your body has to "work" to… -
Re: Calories Burned discrepancy
My diary shows Consumed, Burned, Remaining...Consumed comes from what I've added to the diary. Burned is my BMR (crono calculated or user set) plus my activy level (I use sedentary because my exercise is imported from Garmin). the third circle, remaining is Burned minus calories eaten minus what I need to lose weight. I…
