"View/edit selected food" should include a favorite icon

edited September 2018 in General Discussion

As it is now, I have to retype or rescan the item in order to favorite it. That's not so difficult, but remembering that that's what I need to do after I've copied the item a couple of times to succeeding days is. Thanks for cronometer!

  • The favorite icon will appear in the add serving dialogue. Once you have added the food to your diary on your mobile device, simply tap the diary entry and you will be able to mark it as a favorite! If this option is not available to you, please send a screenshot to [email protected]

  • I see. Works on mobile, but not on Windows desktop. I was looking on desktop.

  • Hi Cattledogit,

You can find the Favorites icon next to the name of the food on the website, pictured here:

Is that what you are looking for?

  • Yes, thanks Karen, I eventually figured that out, but as I wrote in my OP:

As it is now, I have to retype or rescan the item in order to favorite it. That's not so difficult, but remembering that that's what I need to do after I've copied the item a couple of times to succeeding days is.

  • Hi Cattledogit,

I am very glad to hear you were able to find it on your own :)

I see - I did not understand your copied comment there, so forgive me! We have requested to add the ability to favourite a food from the Food Editor as well, to give you the opportunity to favourite items that are already entered into your diary without having to search for the again. Thanks for your feedback!

  • I can’t figure out how to add to favorites. I don’t want to scan every time I enter. Many of my foods and supplements are scanned but the titles are complex. How do I add to favorites to help make this efficient

  • To mark a food as a favorite on the web version of Cronometer, select the Add food button on your diary page to open your search dialogue.

Here, search for your food by doing a text based search, and click on the food you wish to add. Then, you will be able to mark a favorite (Circled in red below) before adding it to your daily diary. To mark a food as a favorite on the mobile app, fist select add food from the bottom console (tap the + button in the bottom center of your screen).
Once you have selected a food to add to your diary, tap the star icon that appears to the left of the food name after clicking it in the results list. Learn more in our new user manual: https://cronometer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018955211-Mobile-Add-a-Food#h_724762648121545254801059
