Food tracking/log for planning

I'm often at a loss for what to eat. I tend to plan around a primary protein and then fill in with flavors, vegetables, fats. Since I log everything in Cronometer, I'd like to be able to just track the major protein(s) I eat each day and then be able to quickly show a log/report to display, by day, what I've had the last N days. (Hmm, 4 fish-from-a-can, 3 tempeh over the last week, probably time for something else ...)

I could sort of fake this with a custom biometric, but I would always need to be checking to remember my food <-> numeric value mapping. (Alphabetic custom biometric values + some way of displaying them would probably be an excellent solution.)

Is there some other simple way to do this in the current version?
