weight of ingredient unknown

Hi,

I created a recipe that uses "365 Everyday Value, Organic Unsweetened Soymilk" as an ingredient. The units allowed for that is only "cup (8oz or 240mL)." As such, it doesn't record the weight and throws off the serving size for the recipe and in turn the nutrition profile for the serving size.

  • Hi Ecofriend,

Using ingredients in your recipe with an unknown weight does mean that the software cannot accurately calculate the weight of your recipe. I would recommend using the closest generic alternative to the food in the Common Food tab of the food search.

For example, "Soy Milk, Plain or Original, Unsweetened, Ready-to-Drink, Fortified" or "Soy Milk, Plain or Original, Unsweetened, Not Fortified, Ready-to-Drink". By using foods from USDA and NCCDB you will have a much more comprehensive nutrient profile as well are more serving size options (including by weight).

    Best,
