Ratios for therapeutic and a thin person/Keto
Thank you for the opportunity to ask a question. I am very thin already, 5' 8", 125 pounds. I have started Keto 5 days ago due to a friend who has had the same neurological condition as I have had for over 10 years. He said this diet wiped out all of his symptoms after 8 weeks. I would be grateful if that happened for me. I have started with the cronometer therapeutic ratios and I feel so hungry. I am following Dr. Mercola. With the ratios, I end up with a very light dinner. It is at 20 g carbs, 34 g protein and the rest fat. I meet the targets but am calorie deficient by 500-600 calories. I end up so hungry in the morning. Bulk of food intake spread between morning an lunch, so I am working on the balance more. I think I need to increase the carbs a bit and more fat so I don't lose weight. Would love feedback and how do you get more calories too and maintain the targets? Thank you!

Hello @CRivers
I agree that you need to be eating more; a calorie-deficit and additional weight loss may lead to nutrient deficiencies/malnutrition. I would focus on increasing the frequency of eating/when you eat. Dear Susan, Thank you again. Now my left leg and feet are swelling on this Keto Diet. I am not understanding why. I will seek help. I seem to be meeting my targets for moderation setting here each day. Any insights? Thank you!

My recommendation is to seek medical attention. Edema (swelling) can be a sign of a more serious issue and could also mean that your electrolytes/fluid status is out of balance.

Because children are so vulnerable, it's important for you to seek medical attention for your son. Please reach out to your physician for guidance in assisting your son.
Best of luck to you and your family!
