Add a probiotics category to diary

I'm not sure if this is something that has been requested before, but I think this would be a great gold subscription addition.

Perhaps, the key probiotics found in supplements could be added to begin with. This would be really helpful for those that are trying to improve their gut health - and would offer something that other trackers don't have.

  • Thank you for your request. When we have enough valid data available for any nutrient we do not currently track we will add it as an option. Unfortunately, we don't have the data for this nutrient from our primary sources for our database. We do not analyse nutrients here at Cronometer, therefore we must rely upon these sources for our database.
You can learn more about from where we source our nutrient data, in our User Manual article: https://cronometer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018239472-Data-Sources

  • That's understandable. How about adding a section where people can add custom tracking options?

  • Yes that's a great idea @Sicahjes and something I would love to see implemented as well. In the meantime, a work-around that some people use is to create a custom biometric as a nutrient instead to add to your diary. Using this method, you can name it whatever you like, and use the units most convenient to you, and also be able to track the nutrients in the trends section of Cronometer.

  • Thanks for the idea. i'll wait for the custom option though, as I'd like to track how close I'm getting to my target without having to do the math myself or go into the trends. :-)

  • Hey! Any more currents suggestions @ tracking probiotic intake and/or other things of personal interest?

  • I'd love to see an option for tracking probiotics too.
Maybe an option to include it in the custom foods nutrients (although amounts might be tricky; perhaps a yes/no choice).
I know in the UK that some yogurt/cottage cheese etc labels may state "live cultures" or the like, but it certainly isn't required.
I will look at Hilary suggestion in the meantime.
