Variable Vitamin E Target
I'm noticing more and more that people seem to have difficulty hitting the RDA of vitamin E. However, the RDA was set to capture vitamin E needs according to average intakes of polyunsaturated fatty acids in the population. This was calculated based on the ratio of 0.4mg of vitamin E per gram linoleic acid consumed. I think a lot of people who feel bad about not achieving the RDA are likely actually meeting their own requirements in reality and not realizing it.
It would be handy to be able to toggle a variable vitamin E target in the settings. Perhaps to dynamically adjust vitamin E needs according to one's average PUFA consumption over some period of time using the ratio specified in vitamin E's DRI report. Just an idea.

This sounds like a great step toward individualized nutrition targets.
Thanks for the idea!Cheers,

I'm bumping this because I decided to do some of the work for you guys. Here is a vitamin E calculator that I made. In the headers are links to research investigating vitamin E requirements as they relate to PUFA intake. Basically you input the amount of PUFA you eat and it spits out a vitamin E requirement based on three different calculations from three different authors.
