Adding foods
What I am having trouble with is the units of measurements when adding foods. I’ll give an example of what I just ate. General Mills Beef Pasta’s serving size is by the 1/3 cup. So if I had an approx 3 cups of it, does that mean (according to Cronometer that I just ingested 180g of net carbs? That would be .33 times 9 for 3 cups. I also don’t understand how to find out the nutritional value of something that there isn’t a label for and that’s not in the database. I’ve run across that too. Lastly, how do you eyeball something without actually measuring it to know how many servings of something your getting. Please help.

I just noticed that this post doesn’t belong under eight management. I’m very sorry

Hi James,
Packaged products can list the nutrition values as either dry/raw or cooked versions of the product. It should say something like '1 serving as packaged' or 'as prepared' It looks like the values for the beef pasta are for the dry product without the added ingredients to make the dish. Check your package to be sure!
What products are you looking for that aren't in the database? We have a curation team that adds new products each day and we would be happy to add things that you are looking for. We have a process to submit packaged products through the website or mobile app. Check out how in our user manual: https://cronometer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020982652-Mobile-Publishing-a-Food-to-CRDB
Estimating your portion sizes accurately takes a lot of practice! I would recommend measuring your portions to get the most accurate results.
Best,
Karen Stark
