Brands
I did a search for "donut" in Brands. The top 6 results were either the words donuts, glazed donuts or vanilla glazed donuts. Those aren't brands!

Oops! All foods from the UPC source are brand name products. They come from the USDA's branded products database.
I did some research to update the brand names for those donuts. Thanks for letting us know!

The problem with donuts is solved, but when I search for brands of orange juice, I get over a dozen hits of just "orange juice", unbranded.

This is a more widespread issue with branded products from the USDA UPC database and we are looking into ways to address it.
The easiest way to find the brand name product you are looking for is to use the barcode scanner in the mobile app, or type in the brand name to search for a particular product on the website or mobile app.

Thanks. I wasn't looking for a particular brand name, rather the names of all brands in the database for a particular generic food.
