Net carbs

Hi.

I thought net carbs were carbs adjusted for fibre etc. But ready cooked packet lentils (eg Merchant Gourmet) have a carb value of 18g per serving and this appears to remain the same despite a fibre value of 6g per serving? I thought the net carbs would be lower?

Labels in the EU and Australia/NZ show the net carb value with the fibre listed separately, so on these labels the total carb value is actually carbs + fibre.
