Stevia Does Not Have Zero Calories
Why does every website on the internet say that stevia has zero calories? According to Cronometer, it has nearly the same calories as common granulated sugar! All websites state what wikipedia says. There being no law preventing the publication of falsehoods on the internet, no harm done, eh? Fortunately, we have Cronometer to set the record straight! Stevia contains a substantial amount of starch, which accounts for all the calories. See the NCCDB listing on Cronometer.

Actually the "carb" is a sugar alcohol which makes it a zero net carb like fiber.

O.K. Thanks. There was an entry on Cronometer showing that stevia had starch, but I can no longer find the entry. The information must have been entered in error.

Realize that those packets aren't all Stevia; a drop of liquid stevia is like a spoonful of sugar. So different products may contain different additives.
