Do exercise diary entry times include rest?

Hi there,

Maybe this is a dumb question or maybe it has already been answered elsewhere and I just didn't find it (I did look first!).

For resistance training, do the kcal burn totals factor in any rest time in between sets, or should we only be recording active time?

Example: It takes 40 minutes for me to lift. 15 minutes of that time I am lifting and the other 25 minutes is rest. How should I record it?

Thanks!

This can be a somewhat challenging question to answer... Your heart rate and energy systems don't go back to baseline in between sets and exercises; often it can stay quite high (especially with HIIT type workouts).

If your workouts are fairly low-intensity, I'd consider entering your activity only. Moderate intensity - consider entering workout and ~50% of rest. High intensity - enter all of rest and activity.

Curious to hear from other fitness experts.
