Food Name Changes
When I put a custom recipe entry into the diary and use the "explode recipe" option, often the foods entered are not the foods selected in the recipes, but rather foods with different names but identical nutrition profiles. I assume this is because the same actual data entry is assigned multiple names. It wouldn't be problematic except the "sources" in the daily report and nutrition report show these items as distinct. So for instance if I explode a recipe that contains "Chicken Breast, Skinless" it may enter it as "Chicken Breast, Skin Removed Before Cooking" and then in the sources for say protein, it shows two separate entries, one for each of those foods, which makes it difficult to interpret the data.
I think the best solution would be to make exploding recipes preserve the actual name and to make the sources pick a canonical form for the duplicates, however either one on its own solves the problem, and the former does a much better job at keeping the diary clean and consistent.

Hi pnot,
Have you noticed this on our website or the mobile app? It sounds like a couple of things going on there that I'll investigate!

Hi Karen,
The Android app. I don't use the web app on a regular basis so I'm not sure of its behavior in this regard.

I can see the behaviour on the android app as well from my investigation so far. The website seems to be handling it as expected.
