Creating Personal Barcodes for ease of entry
Is it possible to create my own barcode for custom food or recipes and put that code in the barcode field in my custom food or recipe, then I can just scan the code to add that food or recipe?
For example, I have a coffee every day that I make the same way. If I could create a custom food with a barcode value, and add that value to my custom food in Cronomete, then I could print out the barcode and have it by my coffee machine, and just scan it to add my coffee to my diary.
I tried playing around a little with this, but I'm not having any luck. I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong (improper bar code format or something) or if this just isn't how the barcode field is meant to be used.
What would be REALLY cool is if I could use RFID tags to do this. :-) But I doubt that's possible with Cronometer right now.

Hi michaeldpotter,
Yes! You can add a barcode number to your custom foods or recipes on our website. Then searching the number or scanning a barcode you generated will bring up your food/recipe in the food search on the mobile app.
Where are you running into issues?

Hi Karen!
I have this barcode:
And I have setup the custom food like this:
But when I scan the barcode in the mobile app, it prompts me to create a new food.

I reached out to support and they helped me realize I was missing a zero. I'm an idiot :-(

That's an easy mistake to make! Sometimes you need a fresh pair of eyes. I'm glad to hear it's working for you
