Soybeans and Edamame

Whats the difference between the two? I thought they have similar nutrients.

  • Edamame is just the Japanese word for immature soybeans in the pod. Once they mature they become the dry light tan soybean used in agriculture and the food industry. As far as I know they do have similar nutritional profiles, except the soybean, being dry, has more of everything except water, sugar, and folate.
