Checkboxes not showing on Add Food page

I recently upgraded my phone, and after opening Cronometer on my new phone I noticed that there are no checkboxes displayed to the left of the items in the list, so I can't add multiple items at once. I hope this isn't an intentional update to the app as that would be a huge step backwards in functionality! So I'm assuming it must be a bug.
I'm using version 4.11.2 on Android.
