Adding food in advance and marking as eaten later?

Hi I sometimes like to add food I plan to eat, yet would like to mark eaten after I actually eat it incase my meal didn't go in as planned. Anyone run into this?

    Bumping this because I would also like to see it. For instance, I have protein shakes that I add as repeat items each day, because I intend to eat them at certain times, but I'm also deeply forgetful, so it'd be nice to have those added, but not marked as consumed, so that I can know if/when I did that.
