Search food, review nutrients, add to diary?
Is it possible to add to the diary from the Foods tab, Search Foods screen? That screen shows all the nutrition info, but I can't seem to add a food to my diary from there.
When adding from the diary screen, you can't see the nutrients before adding. You can see how many nutrients are available, and the calorie breakdown. But you can't see, for example, if it has Potassium or how much Vitamin A, etc.
Sometimes at the end of the day, I'm deciding what to eat to round out my day. It would be helpful to search them on the Foods tab, see all the nutrients, decide on something and just add it from there.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @harry ! Thats great! I'm so pleased to hear you are able to make use of the oracle! And... good news.... you CAN look through a long list of results if you use the original Oracle on the Foods tab. Simply search for a nutrient you are hoping to obtain, and you can choose to see from 25-200 search results of top contributors of that nutrient!. You can even choose to rank the foods based on the amount of a nutrient in a gram or the amount of a nutrient in a calorie. https://cronometer.com/help/foods/#oracle

Hi @Harry, have you seen the suggest foods function we recently introduced? We do this search and compare for you! And the more you use it the smarter it becomes! Learn more about this feature here: https://cronometer.com/blog/nutrient-oracle-food-suggestions/

Thanks for the reply and the link! I've now learned more about that feature and will start using it.
A few comments:
- I like the fact that I can rate foods and it will factor in my preferences.
- I like that I see more foods when I close a suggestion. I choose close when I don't have the food available to me. I would choose 'yuck' when I don't like it (which is seldom!)
- Almost all the foods it suggests are not not in my pantry, of course.
- It would be nice to see a very long list of suggestions so I can scan for foods I have on hand.
Also, I've noticed that the android app DOES let me inspect nutrients before adding a food. I can click 'more details' on the Add Serving screen. So that is a good solution to my original need.
