BMR seems awful high

the app figured my BMR. It’s in the 2500 range. However I think that may be too high . Can I manually change that? Also I am always leaving calories on the table everyday. In other words, my daily deficit is 1850 kcal daily. I actually don’t eat that much.

You can set a custom BMR. Just change 'Default' to 'Custom':

If I understood you correctly and your daily deficit is in the range of 1850 kcal, while your BMR is in the approximate range of 2500 kcal, that sounds mighty unhealthy. Unless you meant to say your daily intake is 1850 kcal, then it seems reasonable.

  • sorry, I am trying to have a calorie deficit. I want to eat only 1580 kcal a day. If I read this right, my BMR is 2500 kcal burned so if I only eat 1580 is that considered a calorie deficit?? Where do I adjust my calorie goal??

Yes, if your intake is below your energy budget you're in a calorie deficit.

But the first step is to get your BMR right. If you don't trust Cronometer's BMR calculation, you could use other tools.
    For instance: https://www.calculator.net/bmr-calculator.html

When I'm tracking my calorie consumption, I always take care to never go below my BMR. At least not for an extended period of time. I've done it in the past, and it never worked in the long run. It's not sustainable. Your body enters a "starvation mode" where your BMR is drastically reduced, and you're always tired and without energy. You'll end up with gained weight due to the yo-yo effect. I've done it so many times, and every time I ended with an additional 2-3 kg.

If you want to lose weight, make sure your calorie consumption is near your BMR, but don't go below. Instead do some exercise (or go for long walks) to increase the calories you're burning.

For reference, my Cronometer settings are as follows:

As you can see, my target is quite lenient and doable.
But I track my daily activity and exercises with a fitness tracker, so I can increase my daily deficit.

  • I exercise 4 times a week for about an hour at the gym. I tried that BMR link and the BMR is pretty close to what I get from Cronometer. So I still can't get my head around how to have it show my 1500 or 1580 calarie deficit. Can you post your 3 macro target circles?

  • I consume about 1700 kcal a day.
