Macros targets met but calories are way under. Macros not adding up to calories.

I have searched and found this same question but the answer doesn't really make sense. The last time it was asked was a long time ago so I thought I would post it again. When I've hit my proteins, fats and carbs for the day the diary is showing I still have over 100 calories left. I understand that food labels can round up. I don't understand being this far UNDER my calorie goal when I've met my macros for the day. Any ideas?

  • I just discovered this same issue today. What I have figured out, at least in my case, is that fiber is included in carbs but not in total calories (even on the packaging of the food itself). A serving of Catalina Crunch has a stated 110 calories, 11 protein, 14 carbs and 5 fat. But if you add those up using the 4-4-9 method, it comes to 145 calories. So my total calories is off by around 35 calories, the amount of the fiber. Same with the Realgood Orange Chicken I had for lunch…on the packaging scanned it has 190 calories, 24 protein, 30 carbs and 6 fat. But a lot of the carbs come from erythritol, which isn’t included in the total calories. If you add up the macros, it comes to 270 calories, which is vastly different from the stated 190. I honestly don’t know whether to watch the macro totals or the calories totals, but at least I figured out the discrepancy!
